Yellow Man

Our poor little Matt has been battling jaundice. A lot of babies are born with jaundice, but Matt decided that he would try to be the yellow-ist baby in all of Atlanta! Today we decided to end this run.

His numbers kept rising, and by the time we left the hospital on Wednesday we already had a doctors appointment for the next day. To make a long story short, we have been to the hospital everyday this week getting Matt's blood tested. (Thank Heaven for the home nurse who will be coming to us tomorrow, so we don't have to go back to the hospital again). The numbers were very high this morning, so by two o'clock today a "bili-bed" arrived at our house. Yikes! My poor little yellow man has to lay in this lighted contraption all day and all night. He is only allowed to break free to eat. You might be wondering how mom and dad are doing with all of this. Dad, of course, is a champ. Mom has been a wimp, and shed lots of tears. Who wants to see their son like this? But we know he will be fine. Hopefully a few days of this "bili-bed", and we will be through this.

On a positive note, we have the most amazing son. He does not seem fazed by this, and he even slept through his blood test today. The other 900 times he has been stuck, he has screamed his head off. What a blessing for his mom...I could not have heard him cry AGAIN! Breaks my heart.

So, as you can tell our first few days home have not been exactly what we thought they would be, but we are thrilled to have our son here at home.

Here a few new pics of Yellow Man. Say some prayers for him for a speedy recovery.

Until next time....
