I can't believe this...

I know. It has been a while. I have several blogs in the "edit" stage. I am guessing that most of them will be posted today, since I have no choice but to sit on my behind. And you all know how much I love that! This will be a difficult day for me. And why do I have to sit on my behind? This is such an embarrassing story for some who claims to be coordinated! Picture this...Last night around 1am Matt woke up and wanted to be fed. So I went to his room and sat in the chair and nursed him. We both fell asleep. I woke up about an hour later. I stood to get up and took one step with my right foot, but it was asleep. So asleep that I could not even feel it. This has never happened to me. It felt like I had an epidural again! And since it was asleep, it could not hold my weight and I rolled my ankle. The best part was my graceful fall with Matt in my arms. He didn't even flinch and stayed asleep! All the while I was on the floor of his room in tons of pain and trying to figure out how I was going to get up and get him in the crib without putting any pressure on my right leg. In true mom fashion, I managed to do it, and hobble my way back to bed. When I crawled under the covers I told Josh what had happened. He mumbled something and went right back to sleep. Nice! It turns out that he thought he was dreaming when I told him that! He did, however, go downstairs at 3am to fetch me some Advil. And he has been waiting on me hand and foot this morning. What a great husband. He thinks that it is so funny, and can't wait to tell people that I sprained my ankle breastfeeding! Now time to finish the several blogs I have started, but not finished!

Florida!

Yeah! Last week, Josh, Matt, and I packed up the car and headed south to Naples, Florida! My parents were there at their condo, so we decided to head down and see them. Josh and I love it there so much and we were very excited to take Matt on his first family vacation. We went to the beach, played in the pool, took walks around the neighborhood, relaxed, sat on the lanai, and ate some yummy food! The best part of all was that Josh and I finally got to have a few "dates". Grandma and Doc were thrilled to have their only grandson all to themselves for several afternoons. Thanks again for everything, Mom and Dad. The three of us had a wonderful time! Here are some pictures from the trip. Matt LOVED the pool, and loved watching the waves and shadows at the beach. It is pretty obvious that he is my son! Plenty more Florida stories to follow...

HELP...

What were we thinking when we decided to drive to Florida with a three month old?! We have the kid that hates to sit still. So we thought it was a good idea to confine him to a car seat for 12 hours! Yikes! Let me paint you the picture. We had been on the road for about 7 hours. Matt had been fed, and had a clean diaper. He had toys to play with, but he was screaming his head off. (Seriously, screaming, not crying!) So, I got out my BlackBerry (Matt loves the lights). He was just starting to grab at things... so I was very excited. I let him "play" with it. Next thing I know, the phone is ringing, and I answer it. It was 911 dispatch of the county in Florida that we were passing through! Matt was so upset with the car ride that he dialed 911! I felt terrible and kept apologizing to the lady on the other end of the phone. She said it happens all of the time. I was so scared that he would do it again that I turned the phone off and put it away! Then Matt started to scream again. Josh and I decided that we should stop at a hotel, spend the night and continue on the next morning. We were so glad that we did that. AND Matt actually slept through the night (11pm to 6am). Don't get too excited....this seems to be a one shot deal, and Matt is now back to his old ways of waking up 8 to 10 times a night. Seriously. Moms out there....I need help! Any advice would be great!

This is not right...

Florida story #2....
Picture this...Matt screaming (yes, again with the screaming). I could not calm him, Josh could not calm him and my mom could not calm him. Up walks the "baby whisperer" and calms him right down. Who would you think it is? It is Doc! Yep, my dad....the silly one in the picture wearing Matt's hat!  He grabs Matt and calms him right down. This was not a one time deal. Doc calmed him down many, many times! So, if you need him, he is avalable on a per hour fee! :) Just let me know.

Monkey Business

Josh and I couldn't resist the urge to dress Matt up for Halloween even though we know he had no idea what was going on!  I just want the pictures to embarrass him with someday.  So we decided the night before that we would walk around the neighborhood with him and our neighbors who have two kids.  Matt and I ran to the mall on Friday morning to get a costume.  You might be thinking, "last minute Joes", but I was thinking "bargain city"!  And I was right!  A cute costume at 90% off!  Can you really beat that?  And for those of you who know me, I love to save money.  It made my day until I put Matt in the monkey costume and THAT made my day!  He was the cutest monkey I have ever seen!  Is it wrong that I want to put him in it every night now?!  :)

Until next time...
